Ontario to Ban Cellphone Use in Classrooms

The Ontario government is banning the use of cellphones in school classrooms starting in September. The move is aimed at reducing distractions and improving student focus during class time.

"We know that cellphones can be a major distraction for students," said Education Minister Stephen Lecce. "This ban will help create more focused learning environments and allow students to reach their full potential."

The ban will apply to all students from kindergarten to Grade 12. Students will still be able to use their phones in designated areas, such as the library or cafeteria.

The ban has been met with mixed reactions. Some parents and teachers have expressed support for the move, while others have raised concerns about how it will be enforced.

The government has said that it will work with schools to develop and implement effective enforcement measures.
