Tottenham murder investigation launched after man shot dead
Crime scene in place after fatal shooting
A murder investigation has been launched after a man in his 30s was shot dead in Tottenham, north London.
Emergency services were called to White Hart Lane at around 11.30pm on Wednesday to reports of a shooting.
The victim, named locally as Talip Guzel, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding, who is leading the investigation, said: "This was a senseless killing and my thoughts are with Talip's family and friends at this difficult time.
"We are doing everything we can to establish the circumstances of what happened and bring those responsible to justice.
"I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward and speak to us."
