Bitwarden, a leading password manager, has introduced enhanced security features through the integration of its Authenticator TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password). This integration empowers users to safeguard their Bitwarden Vault with an additional layer of protection beyond traditional password-only authentication.

TOTP for Steam and Website Logins

Bitwarden's integration with TOTP extends security to popular platforms like Steam. Users can now employ their Bitwarden Authenticator as an alternative TOTP generator for additional protection while accessing Steam accounts. Additionally, websites can be secured by requiring users to provide a temporary one-time password upon login.

Enhanced Vault Protection with Two-Step Login

To further enhance account security, Bitwarden offers two-step login. Users can activate this feature within the Web app Account Settings. This step requires verification via an authenticator application or Bitwarden's own authenticator capabilities, which are now accessible on the Apple Watch. Enabling two-step login adds an extra barrier against unauthorized access attempts.
