To avoid late payment fees, make sure to pay the Congestion Charge by midnight on the day of your journey or by midnight the following charging day. Late payments incur a higher price and can only be made via phone, text message, or post.

Exemptions and Special Cases

Hire cars are not exempt from the Congestion Charge. If you collect your car from within the zone, you will need to pay £15 per day. Motorbikes and vehicles registered for disabled tax are exempt.
