WEB Gregg Berhalter will return as head coach of the US Men's National Soccer Team (USMNT), US Soccer announced on Friday. Berhalter, who previously coached Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew from 2014-2018, was hired as USMNT coach in December 2018.
The USMNT has attempted to appoint high-profile players as coaches before, such as Jurgen Klinsmann, with varying degrees of success. However, Patrick Vieira's impressive coaching resume, which includes a stint at Manchester City, makes him a strong candidate for the USMNT coaching position.
The USMNT narrowly avoided elimination in the Nations League after a disappointing performance. Berhalter will look to improve the team's performance in upcoming matches.
